How Do I Learn About Contracting Opportunities with the Commission?

Due to the State of Maryland emergency declared by the Governor, all public Pre-Bid Conferences and Bid Openings are suspended until further notice. Additionally, all Bid and RFP submissions will only be accepted electronically via the Online Discussion functionality in the Supplier Portal until further notice.  No in person or mailed submissions will be accepted.

The WSSC Water Supplier  Portal provides a faster and more effective mechanism for doing business with WSSC Water, reducing the use of paper based forms and streamlining the bidder registration process. Registration is of no cost to the supplier community.

WSSC Water advertises formal and informal solicitations on the Supplier Portal. In order to view or download bid opportunities you must be registered on the Supplier Portal System. By utilizing our secure internet website suppliers will be able to:

  • Maintain your company’s information, and
  • Identify Goods and Services your company provides.

The Procurement Office 

The Procurement Office of WSSC Water is responsible for negotiating pricing, terms, and conditions for goods and services for the WSSC Water.

The Purchasing function is centralized for all purchases that exceed $4,999.99.

  • For procurements from $5000 to $100,000 WSSC Water may solicit from at least three suppliers to satisfy the competitive bidding requirement.
  • Procurements $100,000 or above are considered to be formal solicitations and must be advertised using a competitively sealed bidding process.
  • In all cases, efforts should be made to include Office of Supplier Diversity & Inclusion firms when soliciting for these requirements.

The primary objectives of the Procurement Office are as follows:

  • Provide supplies, materials, equipment, construction and professional services to all WSSC Water teams in a timely manner.
  • To generate broad participation and competition among potential suppliers and contractors.
  • To ensure good quality products and services at competitive prices.
  • To ensure equal opportunity to all qualified suppliers and contractors wishing to compete for WSSC Water contracts.

WSSC Water’s web-based compliance system's primary focus is geared towards monitoring, tracking and reporting mandated and/or voluntary subcontracting compliance requirements. The web-based compliance system tracks ALL subcontracting (Majority firms, Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Small Local Business Enterprise (SLBE) firms).
